"It's not your fault, it's mine. It was an accident. I was lost in my own regret. I saw the look in Loomis' eyes, all he wanted was more blood, more death. I couldn't take it, and then in that moment all I could think was that inside that monster there was somebody's baby boy. I could've made all this go away. It's not your fault, it's mine."
—Frank to Laurie Strode.[src]

Deputy Frank Hawkins (born 1953) is a police officer for the Haddonfield Sheriff's Department and a close friend of Laurie Strode. He was one of the main officers responsible for Michael Myers' capture in 1978 after his initial massacre. Biography[]

Early Life[]

Frank Hawkins was born in the sleepy town of Haddonfield, Illinois in 1955 and presumably remained there whilst growing up. At some point, he became acquainted with many of the town's residents, such as Laurie Strode, Annie Brackett, Lynda Van der Klok, Bob Simms and Ben Tramer. Growing up, Frank also developed a crush on Laurie but never acted on it due to her having a known crush on Ben Tramer. Hawkins eventually became a police officer of the Haddonfield Sheriff's Department, being assigned as the partner of Pete McCabe, and still held that position by 1978.

Hawkins and McCabe find Lonnie

Hawkins and McCabe find Lonnie Elam.

During the night of October 30, 1978, serial killer Michael Myers, escaped from Smith's Grove Sanitarium and Hawkins, led by Sheriff Brackett and the majority of the police force, was one of the many tasked with patrolling the streets of the small town to find him. On October 31, Hawkins and McCabe were two of the first responding officers upon hearing that Sam Loomis had encountered and shot Myers but lost him. This led to Hawkins chasing Michael through the streets until he unexpectedly lost him. He and McCabe then began searching through the streets. The partners came across a panicked young boy, Lonnie Elam, who was chased by Michael seconds prior and who seemed shaken by the encounter. After some nonsensical mumbling, Lonnie quickly ran away from the scene out of fear, just before Hawkins and McCabe found themselves at the Myers house, Michael's childhood home.

Both of them searched around the house from top to bottom, initially investigating the first floor before hearing a noise from upstairs, proceeding to ascend the stairs and split up to cover more ground. As Hawkins searched another room, McCabe entered the bedroom of Judith Myers, where Michael suddenly appeared and attacked him. Hearing his partner's screams, Hawkins rushed into the room and to see Michael strangling him with a piece of rope. McCabe desperately told him to shoot Michael, however, being extremely nervous, Hawkins accidently shot his partner in the neck. Giving Michael the chance to quickly exit the room. Eventually leading him to die.

Aftermath[]

Once McCabe's body is discovered by paramedics, Hawkins talk to Tobias who refuses to let the other officers know about his mistake. Tobias trades guns with Hawkins in order to protect him.
